Breaking: Gay-friendly governor stumps at location where gay ...
The anti-gay folks at the Christian Civic League of Maine are today decrying Governor John Baldacci for including on his campaign website a picture of his appearance at a local Gay Pride Festival. They say: "Incredible as it may seem, the Governor's campaign website features a photo of the Governor at the appalling Gay Pride Festival which was the subject of so much controversy back in June." And they conclude from the image: "The fact that the photo is featured prominently on the Governor's campaign website reveals once again that the homosexual rights lobby is by far the most powerful special interest group in Maine, and that the Governor is ready to cater to their every whim." But here's the thing -- The photo Baldacci has on his site is connected to an announcement that the Human Rights Campaign has endorsed him for governor.
Black Gay Magazine Premieres in Atlanta
(Atlanta, GA) - For the huge Labor Day Black Gay Pride weekend, Atlanta's Gay and Lesbian population will be treated to a new magazine that serves the African American and Latino Gay and Lesbian communities. "I could not believe that there was no publication in Atlanta that served the African American and Latino GLBT communities. The entire country is well aware of the large number of African American Gays and Lesbians in Atlanta. In many states, Atlanta is considered the 'Black Gay Mecca,'" said Eric Gilbert, founder and investor in RMI Publications Inc, a 10 year old publishing company established in Los Angeles, CA. RMI Publishing specializes in niche publications. Noble is Gilbert's latest venture. The publication premiered three years ago originally but Gilbert admits he and his staff were not familiar enough with the market at the time.
